The Name & Our Story

Sindri Projects was founded on the belief that both capital projects and technology scale-ups succeed only when anchored in technical maturation and clear specification. Erik started the firm with a passion for scaling valuable technologies at the right pace, drawing on experience from FREYR Battery. One clear lesson: never start factory construction before the technology is sufficiently demonstrated — using TRL as the yardstick. Another: bravery is essential — you must still take risks and step forward when the evidence supports it. Technology, risk, factory design, and financing always go hand-in-hand.

The name Sindri comes from Norse mythology, where Sindri is the master craftsman who forged Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir. Beyond a nerdy affection for mythology, it reflects the standards we set for our work: purposeful design, meticulous preparation, and powerful results.
